The Rockford RiverHawks (31-41) outlasted the Evansville Otters (35-37) on Sunday after eight lead changes, squeaking out a 8-7 win at Bosse Field.
The Rockford RiverHawks finally managed to grab the lead after a strong tenth inning. A sacrifice fly by Devin Shepherd scored Michael Hur and gave the Rockford RiverHawks the lead for good.
Hur had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the eighth inning and doubled in the second and tenth innings.
The Evansville Otters couldn't get anything going as long as Mickey Cassidy was on the mound. The Evansville Otters managed just one hit off of Cassidy, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Tyree Hayes ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
