The River City Rascals (10-2) had a tough outing on Thursday, as the Traverse City Beach Bums (7-5) dominated in an 8-2 win at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

The Traverse City Beach Bums scored three runs in the fifth on a two-run single by Kyle Colligan, an RBI single by Chase Burch, and a single by Jeff Flagg.

Flagg racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums.

The River City Rascals couldn't get anything going as long as Sam Brown was pitching. Brown held the River City Rascals hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Brooks Belter got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked seven and surrendered four hits.

Preston Vancil (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out three.
