The Southern Illinois Miners fall 9-1 at the hands of the Normal CornBelters

The Normal CornBelters (3-5) pounded the Southern Illinois Miners (5-4) on Sunday 9-1 at Normal.

The Normal CornBelters scored four runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Mitch Rider, a two-run single by Patrick McKenna, and an RBI single by Justin Clark.

Sam Judah had two extra-base hits for the Normal CornBelters. He homered in the first inning and doubled in the second inning.

Daniel Britt put together a nice outing. The Southern Illinois Miners managed just three hits off of Britt, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Thomas Campbell couldn't get it done on the bump for the Southern Illinois Miners, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
