Hector Pellot went 1-2, helping the Joliet Slammers (4-5) to a 5-1 victory over the Evansville Otters (3-5) on Saturday at Silver Cross Field.

Eric Binder kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Evansville Otters batters. Binder allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk over six innings.

Garrett Bullock ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.

The Evansville Otters scored their only run of the game on an RBI single by Alex Foltz in the third inning.

The Joliet Slammers didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the third inning when they scored on an RBI double by Pellot and an RBI single by Abel Nieves.
