Great game from the Gateway Grizzlies' Myers not enough in 12-7 loss to the Washington Wild Things

The Gateway Grizzlies (2-3) failed to take advantage of Jon Myers' effort at the plate on Wednesday, losing 12-7 to the Washington Wild Things (4-1) at CONSOL Energy Park.

Myers hit two home runs for the Gateway Grizzlies. Myers went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Myers homered in the third and eighth innings.

Shain Stoner racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Washington Wild Things. He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Alan Gatz recorded his first win of the year for the Washington Wild Things. Gatz struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.

Zach Robertson (0-1) took the loss for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked five and struck out none.

Thanks to two runs on no hits in the bottom half of the first, the Washington Wild Things had the early lead. More runs came home for the Washington Wild Things when Stoner scored.

The Washington Wild Things never trailed after scoring four runs in the second on a home run by Stoner.

The Washington Wild Things pushed across one run in both the third inning and the sixth. In the third, the Washington Wild Things scored on a sacrifice fly by Joel Carranza, scoring James Simmons.
