The New Bedford Bay Sox survive the Keene Swamp Bats 5-2 thanks to Lalli's late-game heroics

Andy Lalli brought home the winning run to give the New Bedford Bay Sox (1-0) the lead in the sixth inning, as the New Bedford Bay Sox hung on to beat the Keene Swamp Bats (1-1) 5-2 on Saturday.

With the score tied at one, Lalli came to the plate and homered.

Lalli reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the sixth inning.

Frank Vilacha picked up the win for the New Bedford Bay Sox. Vilacha allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out four over eight innings of work.

Brett Barrett paced the Keene Swamp Bats at the plate. Barrett went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.

Luke Crumley was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
