An excellent effort by Grant Kay carried the Keene Swamp Bats (29-13) to a 6-2 win in seven innings over the Vermont Mountaineers (18-23) on Wednesday at Alumni Field,Keene,NH.
Kay blasted two home runs for the Keene Swamp Bats. Kay went 2-3 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Kay homered in the first and third innings.
The Keene Swamp Bats got the win thanks in large part to Joe Pistorese's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Pistorese allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks over five innings.
Luke Crocker couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Vermont Mountaineers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out none.
