After nine lead changes in Monday's game at Cardines Field, the Newport Gulls (30-10) finally pulled out a 6-4 win over the Sanford Mainers (14-25).

Matt Pare boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Newport Gulls. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.
