Flaherty's big day not enough as the Laconia Muskrats fall to the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-8

Regan Flaherty hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Laconia Muskrats (9-15) to a win on Friday, as the Laconia Muskrats fell to the North Adams SteepleCats (15-8) 11-8 at Robbie Mills Field.

The two teams combined for 19 runs and 19 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were seven pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

The North Adams SteepleCats came out swinging, scoring six runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Laconia Muskrats early.

Adam Sargent improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the North Adams SteepleCats. Sargent struck out five, walked none and gave up two hits.

John Healy couldn't get it done on the bump for the Laconia Muskrats, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked three and struck out none.

The North Adams SteepleCats were sparked by Jeff Roy and Brett Clements, who teamed up for four hits and seven RBIs.
