Conor Biggio was cold coming off the bench, but Biggio warmed up quickly as Biggio stroked a key pinch-hit single in the seven to lead the North Adams SteepleCats (15-11) to a 5-4 win over the Vermont Mountaineers (11-13) on Thursday at Joe Wolfe Field.
With the North Adams SteepleCats trailing by two in the seventh inning, Biggio came to the plate and singled, scoring Charlie Law.
A walk-off single by Brett Clements gave the North Adams SteepleCats the win.
Clements was solid at the plate for the North Adams SteepleCats. Clements went 2-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
Matt Longfield improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the North Adams SteepleCats. Longfield struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
