A walk-off single from Julian Santos brought home the winning run for the North Adams SteepleCats (14-8) in a 3-2 victory over the Sanford Mainers (5-13) in 11 innings at Joe Wolfe Field on Wednesday.
Santos was solid at the plate for the North Adams SteepleCats. Santos went 3-5 and drove in one. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the ninth and eleventh innings.
Tyler Badamo handled the Sanford Mainers' lineup with ease, racking up nine strikeouts. Badamo allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk over seven innings.
Thomas Bammann recorded his second win of the year for the North Adams SteepleCats. Bammann struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Charlie Haslup ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
