Daniel Wright kept the Mystic Schooners (8-31) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Newport Gulls (30-10) beat the Mystic Schooners, 12-0.

Wright allowed four hits, one walk and struck out five.

Seven runs in the first three innings helped the Newport Gulls blow out the Mystic Schooners. An RBI double by Steve Anderson, an RBI single by Brett Winger, an RBI double by Jeff Melillo, and a three-run home run by Yale Rosen during the first inning helped the Newport Gulls put some runs on the board early.

Rosen racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Newport Gulls.

Jeremy Soule was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked one and struck out one.
