Kelly gives the Vermont Mountaineers late push to beat the Holyoke Blue Sox, 4-3

Rob Kelly brought home the go-ahead run to give the Vermont Mountaineers (9-9) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Vermont Mountaineers hung on to beat the Holyoke Blue Sox (8-11) 4-3 on Saturday.

With the Vermont Mountaineers trailing by one, Kelly came to the plate and tripled, bringing home PJ Jones and Brian OGrady.

Kelly racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Vermont Mountaineers. He tripled in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

The Vermont Mountaineers held off the Holyoke Blue Sox, as the Holyoke Blue Sox were unable to overcome a three-run eighth inning deficit.

The Holyoke Blue Sox scored two runs in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Max Pentecost and an RBI single by Paul McConkey. Despite their efforts, the Holyoke Blue Sox couldn't finish the comeback.

Zach Varela got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over six innings. Varela struck out five, walked none and gave up four hits.

Scott Squier couldn't get it done on the mound for the Holyoke Blue Sox, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
