Early lead gives the Laconia Muskrats easy victory over the Mystic Schooners, 18-4

The Laconia Muskrats (8-9) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Mystic Schooners (2-14), recording an 18-4 victory on Friday at Fitch High School.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Laconia Muskrats left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A sacrifice fly by Connor Castellano and a groundout by Joe Torres during the second inning helped the Laconia Muskrats put some runs on the board early.

Vincente Conde racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Laconia Muskrats. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.

Eric Yavarone was solid at the plate for the Mystic Schooners. Yavarone went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

John Healy got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed three runs over six innings. Healy struck out five, walked five and gave up six hits.

Bob Cook (0-2) took the loss for the Mystic Schooners. He allowed eight runs in two innings, walked six and struck out three.

The Laconia Muskrats hammered the Mystic Schooners pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 13 hits, 13 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
