The North Adams SteepleCats fend off the Keene Swamp Bats' late push, hold on 5-3

The Keene Swamp Bats (9-3) were unable to fight back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the North Adams SteepleCats (10-5), and the Keene Swamp Bats lost 5-3 to the North Adams SteepleCats after falling behind by three runs in the fourth inning.

The Keene Swamp Bats scored one run in the sixth on a solo home run by Grant Kay. Despite their efforts, the Keene Swamp Bats couldn't get over the hump.

Shane Klemcke went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the North Adams SteepleCats. He singled in the third and fourth innings.

The North Adams SteepleCats relied on Charlie Law to eat up innings en route to the win. Law allowed three earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Kay racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Keene Swamp Bats. He homered in the sixth inning.

Andrew Grant couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Keene Swamp Bats, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
