The New Bedford Bay Sox (8-4) pounded the Newport Gulls (6-3) on Friday 10-2 at Cardines Field.

The New Bedford Bay Sox scored four runs in the fifth on a solo home run by Peyton Hart, a solo home run by Zach Stone, a two-run double by Alex Baldock, and a double by Andy Lalli.

Lalli racked up four RBIs on two hits for the New Bedford Bay Sox.

The Newport Gulls couldn't get anything going as long as Jonathan Massad was pitching. Massad gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Isaac Greenspon got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Mitch Horacek (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
