McAvoy leads the Keene Swamp Bats to 5-0 victory thanks to 7 strikeouts

An exceptional effort by Kevin McAvoy hoisted the Keene Swamp Bats (6-1) to a 5-0 win over the Danbury Westerners on Tuesday at Alumni Field,Keene, NH.

The Danbury Westerners (3-6) had no answer for McAvoy, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. McAvoy held the Danbury Westerners hitless over 6 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out seven.

Three pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter for the Keene Swamp Bats.

Dylan DelaCruz racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Keene Swamp Bats. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Stephen Catalina was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
