The New Bedford Bay Sox (13-8) didn't stand a chance on Sunday, as the Sanford Mainers (5-12) captured a blowout 10-4 win at Paul Walsh Field.
The Sanford Mainers scored four runs in the first on a groundout by Anthony Hajjar, an RBI triple by Jordan Betts, an RBI double by John Gorman, and an RBI single by Matt Weckerle.
Betts racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Sanford Mainers.
The Sanford Mainers relied on Eric Ashworth to eat up innings en route to the win. Ashworth allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings of work.
Colton Cross (2-1) took the loss for the New Bedford Bay Sox. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
