Friday was a great day for Tyler Gebler, as Gebler allowed three hits to carry the North Adams SteepleCats (2-0) to a 3-1 victory over the Vermont Mountaineers at Joe Wolfe Field.
The North Adams SteepleCats were led by Jeff Roy's hitting. Roy went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the first and second innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
It was a good day at the plate for the Vermont Mountaineers (0-2)'s Logan Pierce. Pierce went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning.
Steve Ostapeck (0-1) took the loss for the Vermont Mountaineers. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
