An outstanding effort by Cole Feazell hoisted the Weyburn Beavers (23-23) to a 6-0 win in seven innings over the Yorkton Cardinals (26-18) on Wednesday at Jubilee Park.
The Yorkton Cardinals had no answer for Feazell, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Yorkton Cardinals managed just one hit off of Feazell, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his seven innings of work.
The Weyburn Beavers blew out the Yorkton Cardinals thanks to eight hits, including zero extra base hits. The Weyburn Beavers scored three runs in the fifth on the Weyburn Beavers scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Andrew Urbistondo, an RBI double by Dan Moro, and a sacrifice fly by Colin Rintoul.
Corey Harrell had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Justin Johnston was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
The Weyburn Beavers were sparked by Moro and Harrell, who teamed up for five hits and three RBIs.
