Extra-inning thriller favors the Hamilton Joes, 5-3 winners over the Xenia Scouts

The Hamilton Joes (3-1) needed 10 innings on Friday to take down the Xenia Scouts (1-2) 5-3 at Gradys Field.

With the score tied at three, Blake Hart came to the plate and singled, plating Bryson Shelton.

Ben Spitznagel was hot from the plate for the Hamilton Joes. Spitznagel went 3-6, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, second, and fifth innings.

Danny Hentz pitched lights out for the Hamilton Joes. Hentz held the Xenia Scouts hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five.

Ryan OHearn reached base three times in the game for the Xenia Scouts. He singled in the second and tenth innings.

Trenton Wood (0-1) took the loss for the Xenia Scouts. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
