A walk-off single from David Sarmiento brought home the winning run for the West Palm Beach Sharks (10-16) in an 8-7 victory over the Florida Pokers in 11 innings on Tuesday.
Sarmiento racked up two RBIs on four hits for the West Palm Beach Sharks. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third, sixth, and eleventh innings.
Coleman Hendershot baffled the Florida Pokers (17-14), striking out nine batters. Hendershot allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk over 4 2/3 innings.
Tommy Derer improved to 2-3 on the year by picking up the win for the West Palm Beach Sharks. Derer struck out one, walked three and gave up four hits.
Brendan Long was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.
