Early lead gives the Swift Current Indians easy victory over the Regina Red Sox, 14-2

The Swift Current Indians (28-9) jumped out to an early lead on the Regina Red Sox (20-14) and captured a 14-2 victory on Sunday at Mitchell Field.

With nine runs in the first three innings, the Swift Current Indians left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A home run by Alex Schultz during the first inning and , an RBI single by Schultz, a two-run single by Schultz, and a groundout by Kyle Zirbes in the second inning fueled the Swift Current Indians' offense early.

Schultz racked up seven RBIs on three hits for the Swift Current Indians.

Christian Marquez got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed two runs over six innings. Marquez struck out one, walked one and gave up six hits.

Ben Schweinfurth ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 11 runs in four innings, walked three and struck out three.
