An excellent effort by James (Isaac) Mullins carried the Fort McMurray Giants (15-29) to an 8-3 win over the Melville Millionaires (9-33) on Friday at Shell Place.

The Melville Millionaires' lineup had no answer for (Isaac) Mullins. The Melville Millionaires managed just two hits off of (Isaac) Mullins, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out six during his eight innings of work.

The Melville Millionaires had the lead early, but couldn't hold off the Fort McMurray Giants. The Melville Millionaires were up until the fourth inning, but the Fort McMurray Giants had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on an error.

Justin Bridgman had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the first inning, tripled in the third inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

Vinny Martin racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Melville Millionaires. He tripled in the third inning.

Kris Brown couldn't get it done on the hill for the Melville Millionaires, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked one and struck out three.

The Fort McMurray Giants were sparked by Cory Meyer and Bridgman, who teamed up for seven hits and four RBIs.
