An outstanding effort by J.P. Sorma spurred the Pompano Beach Clippers (8-4) to a 10-0 win over the Coral Springs Royals (5-10) on Monday at Pompamo Park.
Sorma blasted two home runs for the Pompano Beach Clippers. Sorma went 4-5 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Sorma homered in the first and seventh innings.
Five runs in the first three innings helped the Pompano Beach Clippers blow out the Coral Springs Royals. An RBI single by Lance Myers and a two-run home run by Sorma during the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Chase Reyes in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Pompano Beach Clippers.
Ken Tabor kept the Coral Springs Royals off the board during his six innings of work. Tabor struck out eight and allowed four walks and two hits.
Bobby Barradas (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
