The Oneonta Outlaws jump on the Geneva Red Wings early and coast to 17-5 win

Story by Narrative Science.

The Oneonta Outlaws (6-2) jumped out to an early lead on the Geneva Red Wings (3-5) and captured a 17-5 victory on Saturday at McDonough Park.

With nine runs in the first three innings, the Oneonta Outlaws left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An error, an RBI single by Alex Malsch, an error, a sacrifice fly by Robbie Nardelli, and an error during the first inning and a two-run home run by John Hennen and an RBI single by Reed Massey in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Oneonta Outlaws.

Malsch racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Oneonta Outlaws.

The Geneva Red Wings couldn't get anything going as long as Caleb Armour was pitching. Armour held the Geneva Red Wings hitless over 3 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.

Cal Lawrence recorded his first win of the year for the Oneonta Outlaws. He allowed four runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered six hits.

Alec Jordan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in two innings, walked one and struck out two.
