Joe Spitaleri was hot from the plate for the Utica Blue Sox. Spitaleri went 2-4 and scored three runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second inning.
The Amsterdam Mohawks had no answer for Michael Hope, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Amsterdam Mohawks managed just two hits off of Hope, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Kevin Woebke improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Utica Blue Sox. He allowed three runs over five innings. Woebke struck out four, walked two and gave up nine hits.
Tim Herrin was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
