Phil Madonna racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Elmira Pioneers. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth innings.
Cody Thompson pitched lights out for the Elmira Pioneers. The Oneonta Outlaws managed just one hit off of Thompson, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
Zack Helsel improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Elmira Pioneers. Helsel struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Mark Giallanzo was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
