The Utica Blue Sox (12-5) and the Newark Pilots (11-8) both had scoring chances on Tuesday, but it was the Utica Blue Sox that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 4-2 win at Donovan Stadium.

Mike Warren was hot from the plate for the Utica Blue Sox. Warren went 2-3 and drove in one. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Michael Hope got the win for the Utica Blue Sox thanks to 10 strikeouts. Hope allowed one earned run on seven hits and no walks over eight innings.

Chase Cockrell was hot from the plate for the Newark Pilots. Cockrell went 2-4 and scored one run. He tripled in the fourth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Skyler Defer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
