A five-run explosion in the eighth inning carried the Amsterdam Mohawks (6-5) to a 7-0 win over the Albany Dutchmen (6-4) at Shuttleworth Park on Tuesday.

The Amsterdam Mohawks scored in the eighth on , a single by Eric Downey, , a double by Joe Genord, and a double by Chris Givin.

Genord racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Amsterdam Mohawks.

The Albany Dutchmen couldn't get anything going so long as Tim Herrin was on the hill. The Albany Dutchmen managed just one hit off of Herrin, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out seven during his four innings of work.
