The Jamestown Jammers (4-7) jumped out to an early lead on the Adirondack Trail Blazers (2-8) and captured an 11-2 victory on Saturday at Diethrick Park.
The game was decided quickly as the Jamestown Jammers exerted their will early with eight runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Clay Payne, a hit by pitch, and a two-run error during the first inning and an RBI double by Skyler Valentine in the second inning fueled the Jamestown Jammers' offense early.Chas Hadden reached base four times in the game for the Jamestown Jammers. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the second and third innings.
The Adirondack Trail Blazers had no answer for Nick Wegmann, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Adirondack Trail Blazers managed just one hit off of the the Jamestown Jammers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his five innings of work.
Dino Cattai (0-1) took the loss for the Adirondack Trail Blazers. He allowed eight runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out five.
