A walk-off single from Blake Buckman brought home the winning run for the Elmira Pioneers (3-3) in a 5-4 victory over the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs at Dunn Field on Wednesday.

Brian Kelly got on base four times in the game for the Elmira Pioneers. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the seventh and ninth innings.

Spencer Kulman handled the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs (0-6)'s lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Kulman allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over five innings.

Despite the loss, the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs' Lucas Godlewski dominated the Elmira Pioneers' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Parker Caracci recorded his first win of the year for the Elmira Pioneers. Caracci struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.

Brendan Welch couldn't get it done on the mound for the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
