Six first-inning runs helped the Pierce (34-15) to a 7-2 win over the Yakima Valley (33-17) at David Story Field - Longview, W on Sunday.
The Pierce scored in the first on a two-run double by Matt Thompson, a two-run home run by Rayven Kahana, and a two-run double by Carter Johnson.
Kahana racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Pierce.
Mac McCarty kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the Yakima Valley batters. McCarty allowed one earned run on six hits and two walks over nine innings.
Josh Foster had an impressive outing against the Pierce's lineup. Foster gave up just four hits, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out two during his five innings of work.
Jorge Garcilazo was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked two and struck out one.
