The Columbia Basin jump on the Edmonds early and coast to 11-2 win

The Columbia Basin (33-13) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Edmonds (27-16), recording an 11-2 victory on Saturday at Mt Tahoma High School .

Five runs in the first three innings allowed the Columbia Basin to put the game away early.

A two-run single by Drew Loera in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Brendan McClary and a two-run single by Colton Kelly during the second inning fueled the Columbia Basin's offense early.

Tanner Simpson racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Columbia Basin. He singled in the second, fourth, and seventh innings.

Josh Williamson brought the heat against the Edmonds during his outing. The Edmonds managed just one hit off of Williamson, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Karver Pate recorded his sixth win of the year for the Columbia Basin. He allowed two runs over five innings. Pate struck out six, walked six and gave up two hits.

Jared Gray (3-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in three innings, walked two and struck out two.
