Extra-inning thriller favors the Tucson Saguaros, 8-6 winners over the Alpine Cowboys

The game between the Tucson Saguaros (50-13) and the Tucson Saguaros went into extra innings, but when the last out was recorded the Tucson Saguaros emerged with a 8-6 victory.

With the score tied at six, Michael Rampone came to the plate and singled, plating Steven Borkowski and Michael Morris.

Tanner Giesel racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Tucson Saguaros. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the seventh and ninth innings.

Borkowski baffled the Alpine Cowboys (31-31), striking out nine batters. Borkowski allowed one earned run, eight hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings.

A bright spot for the Alpine Cowboys in the defeat was Jake Heissler, who allowed only one run while striking out six.

Brian Luebcke improved to 5-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Tucson Saguaros. Luebcke struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.

Chris Rogers (4-2) took the loss for the Alpine Cowboys. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
