The Alpine Cowboys get on top of the Tucson Saguaros early but can't hang on in 7-2 loss

The Alpine Cowboys (26-28) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 7-2 to the Tucson Saguaros (42-13) on Thursday.

A two-run single by Danny Droll gave the Tucson Saguaros the lead in the fourth inning.

Ryan Retz went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Tucson Saguaros. He singled in the first and fourth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Steven Borkowski got the win for the Tucson Saguaros thanks to seven strikeouts. Borkowski allowed no earned runs on six hits and two walks over six innings.

Cam Carney had an impressive outing against the Tucson Saguaros' lineup. The Tucson Saguaros managed just one hit off of Carney, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.

Jake Heissler was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
