The Santa Fe Fuego (10-36) failed to take advantage of Joey Lacugna's effort at the plate on Wednesday, losing 17-15 to the Topeka Train Robbers (20-24) in 10 innings at Fort Marcy Park.
Lacugna blasted two home runs for the Santa Fe Fuego. Lacugna went 4-6 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Lacugna homered in the second and seventh innings.
Steven Taft racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Topeka Train Robbers. He singled in the first inning.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 32 total runs and 39 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with nine pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
Logan Truex got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. Truex struck out two, walked two and gave up one hit.
