Thursday was a great day for Anthony Pastrana, as Pastrana struck out eight batters to carry the White Sands Pupfish (14-25) to a 5-1 victory over the Santa Fe Fuego (7-29) at Fort Marcy Park.
Joe Borowski hit two home runs for the White Sands Pupfish. Borowski went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Borowski homered in the first and third innings.
The White Sands Pupfish scored four runs in the first inning to build an early lead. The White Sands Pupfish scored in the first on an RBI single by Eric Kalbfliesh, an error, and a two-run home run by Borowski.
Ryan Harper couldn't get it done on the bump for the Santa Fe Fuego, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked four, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
