Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Alpine Cowboys (17-13) outscored the Santa Fe Fuego (6-28) 14-10.
The two teams combined for 22 hits in the game.
The Alpine Cowboys scored five runs in the first inning to build an early lead. The Alpine Cowboys scored in the first on an error, an RBI single by Daniel Aldrich, and a three-run home run by Nate Ferrell.
Reagan Rutledge was solid at the plate for the Alpine Cowboys. Rutledge went 3-6 and scored four runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the second and third innings.
Frank Fantino got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered three hits.
Ryan Harper was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed 12 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out five.
