An impressive effort by DJ Sharabi carried the Great Bend Boom (11-12) to an 11-4 win over the Topeka Train Robbers (11-15) on Tuesday at Al Burns Field.
The Great Bend Boom got the win thanks in large part to Sharabi's dominant, 14-strikeout performance. Sharabi allowed one earned run on five hits and three walks over eight innings.
The biggest inning for the Great Bend Boom was the fourth. The Topeka Train Robbers had no answer as the Great Bend Boom scored six runs. The Great Bend Boom scored in the fourth on an RBI single by Reece Bell, an error, an RBI single by Dominique Lincoln, an error, and a two-run double by Sergio Leon.
Kirby Campbell reached base four times in the game for the Great Bend Boom. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.
Chris Dragone (0-1) took the loss for the Topeka Train Robbers. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
