Gabriel Acevedo was cold coming off the bench, but Acevedo warmed up quickly as Acevedo stroked a key pinch-hit single in the seven to lead the Topeka Train Robbers (7-9) to an 8-6 win over the Great Bend Boom (8-7) on Sunday at Bettis Complex.

With the Topeka Train Robbers trailing by one in the seventh inning, Acevedo came to the plate and singled, scoring Sam Pack.

Tyler Shannon improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Topeka Train Robbers. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Joe Quinones (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
