The Tucson Saguaros top the White Sands Pupfish behind Poole's 5 hits, 22-12

Davon Poole hit two home runs to carry the Tucson Saguaros (9-2) to a 22-12 win over the White Sands Pupfish (5-6) at Griggs Park.

Poole racked up six RBIs on five hits for the Tucson Saguaros. He homered in the fifth and eighth innings and singled in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.

Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 34 runs and 42 hits, including zero extra base hits. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using seven pitchers in total.

Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Tucson Saguaros to easily put away the White Sands Pupfish. A two-run home run by Burnell Dailey and a two-run single by Danny Droll during the first inning fueled the Tucson Saguaros' offense early.

TJ Wharton racked up four RBIs on three hits for the White Sands Pupfish. He doubled in the third inning, homered in the fifth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

Carlos Diaz recorded his first win for the Tucson Saguaros even though he allowed five runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Dametrus Ingram was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 12 runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked six and struck out two.

The Tucson Saguaros hammered the White Sands Pupfish pitching as nine hitters had a field day, combining for 27 hits, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
