The Lower Columbia offense too much for the Chemeketa in 12-2 rout

The Lower Columbia (26-7) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Chemeketa (8-21), recording a 12-2 victory on Tuesday at Wallace Marine Park .

With 10 runs in the first three innings, the Lower Columbia left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An error, a two-run single by Sam Boyce, an RBI single by Hannah Rothwell, an RBI single by Madi Barr, and an RBI single by Maggie Harshaw during the first inning and a two-run home run by Jessica Gibson in the second inning fueled the Lower Columbia's offense early.

Ashley Kelly had two extra-base hits for the Lower Columbia.

Alicia Loiler racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Chemeketa. He homered in the second inning.

Krystina Fischer improved to 14-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Lower Columbia. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered five hits.

Megan Henshaw ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his ninth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in one inning, walked one and struck out none.

Kelly, Boyce, Nicole Bolasky and Gibson helped lead the Lower Columbia. They combined for six hits and seven RBIs.
