Sean Hurley went 2-3, sparking the Lake Erie Crushers (20-25) to a 5-3 victory in seven innings over the Windy City ThunderBolts (24-23) on Wednesday at Standard Bank Stadium.

Mike Devine kept contact to a minimum, striking out five the Windy City ThunderBolts batters. Devine allowed two earned runs on five hits and no walks over six innings.

Larry Balkwill had two extra-base hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Tyler Murphy ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
