Jimmy Yezzo hit two home runs to carry the Washington Wild Things (27-22) to an 8-1 win over the Schaumburg Boomers (24-28) at CONSOL Energy Park.

The Washington Wild Things blew out the Schaumburg Boomers thanks to 14 hits, including zero extra base hits. A two-run double by Ricky Rodriguez helped the Washington Wild Things score two runs in the fourth. The Washington Wild Things had two hits in the inning.

Trevor Foss racked up eight strikeouts in the the Washington Wild Things win. Foss allowed no earned runs, nine hits and no walks over nine innings.

Lars Liguori (0-3) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

Rodriguez, Yezzo and Jamodrick McGruder helped lead the Washington Wild Things. They combined for eight hits and four RBIs.
