Thursday was a great day for Trevor Foss, as Foss tossed a shutout to carry the Washington Wild Things (29-26) to a 3-0 victory over the River City Rascals at CONSOL Energy Park.
Foss held the River City Rascals (26-29) scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up four.
Austin Wobrock was hot from the plate for the Washington Wild Things. Wobrock went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Despite the loss, the River City Rascals' Tim Koons dominated the Washington Wild Things' batters, giving up three runs and striking out six.
Koons (3-4) was the game's losing pitcher.
