The Lake Erie Crushers (27-28) beat the Evansville Otters (32-24) 11-3 on Thursday thanks to a five-run ninth inning.

The Lake Erie Crushers scored in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by R.J. Devish, , a double by Jose Barraza, an RBI single by Eric Grabe, , and an RBI single by Nick Covello.

Richard Seigel did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Lake Erie Crushers, reaching base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Josh Allen was hot from the plate for the Evansville Otters. Allen went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings.

Stetson Nelson improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Lake Erie Crushers. He allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.

Preston Olson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
