An outstanding effort by Nolan Meadows led the Normal CornBelters (27-31) to a 7-1 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (27-29) on Friday at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Meadows rocked the Lake Erie Crushers with two home runs. Meadows went 3-5 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Meadows homered in the second and fourth innings.

The Normal CornBelters blew out the Lake Erie Crushers thanks to 14 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Normal CornBelters scored three runs in the fourth on the Normal CornBelters scored in the fourth on a solo home run by Meadows, an RBI single by Dylan Kelly, and an RBI single by Justin Fletcher.

Michael Schweiss got the win for the Normal CornBelters thanks to seven strikeouts. Schweiss allowed no earned runs, three hits and seven walks over six innings.

Steve Hagen was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
