Charley Thurber went 2-4, sparking the Windy City ThunderBolts (25-27) to a 4-2 victory over the Normal CornBelters (23-29) on Friday at Standard Bank Stadium.

Brady Muller kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the Normal CornBelters batters. Muller allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks over 8 1/3 innings.

Dillon Haupt racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Normal CornBelters. He homered in the ninth inning.

Matthew Chavarria brought the heat against the Windy City ThunderBolts during his outing. The Windy City ThunderBolts managed just one hit off of the the Normal CornBelters' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Charlie Gillies ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked five, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
