The Windy City ThunderBolts had no answer for Dyllon Nuernberg, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Windy City ThunderBolts managed just one hit off of Nuernberg, who allowed no earned runs, walked seven and struck out seven during his five innings of work.

Zac Westcott had an impressive outing against the Southern Illinois Miners' lineup. Westcott held the Southern Illinois Miners hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Kyle Von Ruden (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed two runs.
